Sample poem:To My Sister On Her Wedding Day My sister was the tomboy sort Climbing trees and playing sport, Now she lives in Cardiff city All grown up and rather pretty. Very bright (first class degree) She rocks the world of pharmacy, Loves to socialise with pals; And drinking champers with the gals! She never argues, makes a scene (Well, only briefly in her teens, I’d stalk poor Annie everywhere And imitate her clothes and hair.) But truly this Carmarthen girl’s The nicest sister in the world. I’m glad she’s got such chemistry With a handsome chap in dentistry. What a very great relief To find a man who’ll floss your teeth! Jason’s funny, thoughtful, kind And happily, he doesn’t mind That Annie has a master plan To ‘welsh’ their kids as best she can. It’s plain that they adore each other My sister and my brand new brother. Llongyfarchiadau man and wife Pob lwc and happiness in life. Copyright Joanna Miller 2012
