"Couldn't rate this company enough. The poem for our colleague was so well written and absolutely captured the message I was hoping to get over. She absolutely loved it and it's now pride of place in her front room and everyone that goes to her house always has a read and compliments what a wonderful and different gift it is! Thank you so much!"

A witty and heartfelt 26 line personalised poem for the retirement of a colleague, parent or friend. Laughter and tears guaranteed!

A bespoke poem is a unique retirement gift. It's a way to make a funny and personal tribute to someone who is retiring from the world of work.

It could be a goodbye to a colleague, or a retirement gift for a parent or friend. Perfect to read aloud at the party.

Our poems are often referred to as 'clever', 'witty' and 'distinctly not naff' and have been recommended as gifts by VOGUE, OK!, The Daily Mirror, Prima, Woman and Home, Perfect Wedding, Metro and Easy Living.

Our writing team is led by award-winning poet Joanna Miller. Joanna has a degree from Oxford University, so she knows her rhyming couplets! She and her team of professional writers have written hundreds of retirement poems between them, many of which are commissioned by returning customers who have found the perfect present for the person who has everything.

The poem comes ready framed and our chic vintage-inspired design means it will look beautiful displayed in any home.

When you order we send you a questionnaire about the recipient. We ask questions about their talents and career, their likes, dislikes, nicknames, habits and hobbies, future plans and even funny stories.

We will use your words and ideas to create a clever and affectionate portrait of the retiree, including any message you have for them. You will be sent a proof to approve and any tweaks required will be made for you.

The poem is printed onto the highest quality GF Smith white A4 card (250gsm) using Dura-Bright waterproof ink. There is no mount around the print.

The lightweight wooden frame is matt white with a slightly grained effect. It has a hook for wall hanging. The front is perspex.

Each frame is handmade in the UK by Fine Art Trade Guild commended framers using Italian moulding. The product is dispatched in a purpose-made picture box.

The print is H30 x W21cm (A4) and comes ready framed: H34.5 x W25.7 x D2cm

Martin Smith has finished work

And has a plan that he will lurk

Around the house annoying Lynn

Until she finally gives in,

Lets him buy the car he’s after:

A Jag for the retired grafter.

(Forty years at C&G

Deserves a Jag, if you ask me!)

So what makes Martin very happy?

He’s not a complicated chappy;

A round of golf, or trip to pub

For pint of beer and spot of grub.

He loves to watch all kinds of sport

As every Yorkshire fellow ought,

And cannot wait to have more hours

To spend on his beloved flowers.

Another thing to mention folks

Is Martin’s line in ‘Father Jokes’

The corny gag? Well, he’s the king

Of eyeballs bouncing on a spring.

And now he’s making grandkids laugh

With silly puns and acting daft.

Our Dad is just a super bloke

A rock, a staff, a sturdy oak

A cornerstone, a roof, a beam...

The centre forward of our team!
